06:00 – Elephant Mountain

Getting There: Just a 5-minute walk from Lungshan Temple.


14:45 – Ximending Walking District

Taipei’s vibrant version of Harajuku and Shibuya, it’s filled with colorful streets, trendy shops, and a lively atmosphere. It’s a fantastic destination for sampling delicious street food and capturing striking street photography, making it a perfect spot for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the city’s dynamic culture.

What to do: Explore street fashion, anime stores, themed cafés, and try street snacks (bubble tea, torched beef cubes, fried chicken).

Getting there: MRT Blue Line → Ximen Station, Exit 6


17:15 – Taipei 101 + Coffee at Simple Kaffa Flagship

Visit the Taipei 101 Observatory for stunning views of the city. Ride the world’s fastest elevator to the 89th floor in just 37 seconds. Head to the open-air 91st floor for a breathtaking experience. Admission is around NT$600 for adults, making it a must-visit for unforgettable skyline photos!

Alternatively, you can enjoy the same experience without the high cost at Simple Kaffa. This flagship café offers artisan brews, pastries, and a view of Taipei’s skyline from the window side. Stay long enough to witness the golden hour city views.

Getting there: MRT Blue Line → Transfer at Taipei Main → Red Line → Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station. Take Exit 4, walk into Taipei 101 Mall.  Tell the receptionist that you’re getting a takeout coffee at Simple Kaffa.


18:00 – Takemura Izakaya

Drop by Takemura Izakaya for its cozy atmosphere and great food. It serves traditional Japanese dishes and modern flavors. The pub is a perfect place to relax after a long day. Plus, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Taipei 101.

18:45 – Raohe Street Night Market

End your day on a high note with an exquisite dinner at Raohe Street Night Market. It’s celebrated as Taipei’s most visually stunning and culinary-focused night market. As the night lights begin to twinkle, this bustling market comes alive with delicious aromas and an energetic atmosphere.

Must Try:

  • Fuzhou black pepper buns (at the entrance!)

Izakaya reservationTakemura is a local favorite. Reservations are recommended for peak hours. Otherwise, expect a wait — especially after 6 PM. You can also just go here to get a nice view of Taipei 101 at night then proceed to Raohe Night Market for dinner

  • If you need a cool-down or spa after the hike: Consider Beitou Hot Springs (too far for the same day, but nice option for another day).
  • If it rains heavily: Swap Elephant Mountain for a coffee at a view café or Taipei 101 observatory.
